RSPB Saltholme is all geared up for six weeks of fun filled activities based around some of their favourite children’s books and authors.
Story time at Saltholme has already started and will feature exciting activities themed around a different book or author each week.
These activities will include craft, making smelly potions, writing magical nature spells, creating bug homes and planting vegetables to take home.
Aimee Lee, visitor experience manager at RSPB Saltholme, said: “This summer we have an amazing programme of activities planned for families.
“All of the things we have prepared will connect children with the nature around them through the eyes of their favourite stories and will challenge them to explore our wonderful nature reserve.”
In addition to the craft activities there will also be daily storytelling at 2pm in the centre of the willow maze and an exciting trail around the Lake Walk, linked to the author or story of the week.
Aimee added: “We have some wonderful stories to share from hungry insects and naughty little bunnies to adventures to wild places, there will be something for everyone this summer.”
The cost is free for members and £2 for non-members and pond dipping is available at an additional cost of £2 for non-members and free for members.
RSPB Saltholme is open every day (except Christmas Day) and is open 9.30am until 5pm.
